This amazing cocktail was created by Stacy Hanley, Napa Valley Grille bartender.  Stacy has a strong background with sake cocktails.  Pomegranates remind her of her childhood in Rhode Island as she would buy them from the local market every autumn.  The beautiful red jade color is associated with love and releasing negative energy as well as enhancing the flow of life energy through the body.  This carefully crafted drink takes a bit of preparation but is SO worth the effort!


Pomegranate infused Belvedere Vodka  1 oz

Rock Sake Junmai Daiginjo  1 oz

Fresh pomegranate juice  .75 oz

Simple sugar  .5 oz

Fresh lemon juice  .75 oz

Ginger Matchsticks  3 each

Domaine Chandon Rose  1 oz

Pomegranate arils (seeds)  3 each


Infuse 1L Belvedere with 1 cup pomegranate seeds and one lemon peel for 5 days until pink in color (crush seeds for best results).  Muddle ginger matchsticks with simple syrup in a shaker.  Add all other ingredients except the arils and Chandon.  Shake.  Strain into chilled martini glass.  Top with Chandon float.  Drop arils into glass and the sparkling wine will help them float.  ENJOY!
